Marcus Rashford is on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, having joined the Spanish club last summer.

The winger, who developed through the United academy, made 426 appearances for the Red Devils before his departure.

During his time at United, he scored 138 goals.

Since moving to Spain, the 28-year-old has had notable success, earning the Player of the Match award for his performance against Elche earlier in the season.

In addition, the Barcelona winger has scored seven goals and provided eight assists.

As a result, there have been talks about a permanent move to Spain for Rashford.

However, with the recent sacking of Ruben Amorim, this potential deal has become uncertain.

Despite this, Deco had an informal meeting with Rashford’s agents to discuss the player’s situation.

This meeting clarified Barcelona’s interest and reassured Rashford of the club’s intent to keep him long-term.

With his position at Barcelona now confirmed, Rashford has won his first major trophy with the club after Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-2 in the Super Cup final on Sunday.

During the match, Barcelona took the lead in the 36th minute with a goal from Raphinha.

A chaotic period of added time saw three goals scored in quick succession by Vinicius Junior, Robert Lewandowski, and Gonzalo Garcia, leveling the score at 2-2.

However, in the second half, Raphinha regained the lead for Barcelona with a well-placed shot from outside the box.

Despite a red card for Frankie De Jong in added time, Barcelona held on to win the match and the trophy.

Rashford, who played in the later stages of the game, will receive a winner’s medal.

With this achievement, Rashford and Barcelona will now shift their focus to La Liga and the goal of defending their title.

However, they will need to remain competitive against Real Madrid.
