Everton have made a formal offer to Fenerbahçe for forward Youssef En-Nesyri.

The club is seeking a loan agreement for En-Nesyri, with a potential permanent transfer option for €20m (£17.3m).

David Moyes aims to add another striker this month, as Beto and Thierno Barry have struggled to score. Together, they have netted only five goals in the Premier League. En-Nesyri is seen as a valuable upgrade for the team’s attacking options. Moyes has had a sustained interest in the Moroccan player, as West Ham had previously shown admiration for him.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that talks between the two teams are in progress. En-Nesyri has scored seven goals in 10 league matches for Fenerbahçe this season, adding to his tally of 30 goals across all competitions last season.

The 28-year-old transferred to Fenerbahçe from Sevilla, where he scored 73 goals in 196 appearances, for a club-record fee of €19.5m in July 2024. This transfer established a new record for Turkish football at that time.

Any agreement will be delayed until the Africa Cup of Nations concludes. En-Nesyri is currently representing Morocco in the tournament, with Morocco set to face Nigeria in the semi-finals this evening.
