Crystal Palace has had an impressive season under manager Oliver Glasner, who joined in February 2024. He guided the team to a remarkable FA Cup victory, defeating Manchester City 1-0.

Building on that success, the Eagles won the Community Shield, overcoming Premier League champions Liverpool in a penalty shootout, marking their second trophy in just three months.

This season, however, has presented challenges. The team sits in 13th place in the league and was unexpectedly eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round by non-league team Macclesfield.

In a recent press conference before an upcoming match against Sunderland, Glasner discussed his future as he approaches the end of his contract.

According to BBC Sport, Glasner said, “I told Steve [Parish] that I am looking for a new challenge.”

He explained, “That’s how I feel after everything. I informed him in October. It’s not related to the transfer window. I dislike untrue reports, and it has been tough for me to remain silent.”

“I haven’t spoken with any other club. I’m fully committed to giving my best season in Crystal Palace’s history.”

The speculation Glasner mentioned likely relates to interest from Manchester United, who have considered him as a long-term successor to Ruben Amorim. This consideration arose even before Amorim’s departure, which seemed likely since late 2025.

Currently, Michael Carrick is serving as caretaker manager at Old Trafford for the remainder of the season while the club seeks a permanent replacement for next season.
