Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both reached out to Xavi’s representatives to discuss a potential move to the Premier League.

Manchester United is looking for a permanent replacement for Ruben Amorim, who left the club earlier this month. Michael Carrick has taken over as interim manager until a new appointment is made.

Carrick kicked off his tenure with a 2-0 victory against Manchester City in the Manchester Derby. He aims to present himself as a strong candidate for the permanent role, while the club explores all options.

Xavi is among those being considered. He has been without a job since leaving Barcelona in May 2024, after leading the team to the La Liga title in 2022-23. He also had a successful spell with Qatari club Al Sadd.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United has initiated contact, but they are not the only English club interested in Xavi. Tottenham Hotspur is also assessing the situation as they contemplate parting ways with Thomas Frank.

Tottenham recently lost 2-1 at home to West Ham and is currently sitting 14th in the league standings. Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou in the summer but has not achieved the desired results.

The club has opted to keep Frank in charge for their upcoming Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund, but his future beyond that remains in doubt.
