Gabriel Jesus had a remarkable night in the UEFA Champions League as Arsenal defeated Inter Milan 3-1 in an away match.
The Brazilian striker scored two goals around a Petar Sucic equaliser in the first half, helping Arsenal maintain their unbeaten status in the tournament. Viktor Gyokeres capped the victory with a late third goal.
After facing injuries over the past two years, the 28-year-old marked his return to form by scoring his first European goals since late 2023 at the historic San Siro stadium.
Jesus reflects on an unforgettable night for Arsenal in the Champions League
“It’s a dream night,” Jesus shared with Amazon Prime Video. “I always dreamed of being a footballer. I grew up watching Serie A, so being here and scoring is emotional for me.”
“There’s always a reason for events, whether they are good or challenging. I learned that while out of action for 11 months.”
“Playing against Inter Milan is tough. Last season, we lost here. Tonight, we performed better; we controlled the game, but they still posed a threat. We secured the three points and now must keep up the momentum for the next match.”
“I respect everyone on the team. At 28, I understand the game well. I’m happy Vik scored as well. I believe Kai will find the net when he gets his chance.”
