Our Champions League Awards highlight the best and worst moments from the midweek European matches, featuring Bodo/Glimt and Vinicius Junior.
Moment of the Week
Bodo/Glimt delivered an impressive performance by defeating Manchester City in an unexpected Champions League upset.
This is Bodo’s first time in the competition this season, and they had not won any of their first six games. That changed now.
Kasper Hogh scored twice, and Jens Petter Hauge also found the net, leaving Manchester City struggling to respond in the freezing Arctic conditions.
A classic David vs Goliath upset.
Player of the Week
Vinicius Junior was unstoppable this week, putting to rest talks about a potential exit from Real Madrid. His performance against Monaco showcased his abilities with a stunning goal, two assists, seven chances created, and an own goal forced.

The partnership between Vinicius and Kylian Mbappe is looking promising, which could be concerning for other Champions League teams.
Goal of the Week
Jens Petter Hauge came through Bodo/Glimt’s academy before moving to AC Milan.
While his time at Milan and later stints at Eintracht Frankfurt and Genk were less successful, at 26, he has returned to Bodo and is rediscovering his talent.
He has netted four goals in the Champions League this season, including a spectacular goal against Manchester City. Hauge leads the competition in successful dribbles, and several clubs may start showing interest again.
That is brilliant 🔥

Stat of the Week
Tottenham Hotspur have struggled at home in the Premier League this season, but their European matches at home prove to be challenging for visiting teams.
Remarkably, Spurs have won twice as many Champions League matches at their stadium compared to their home Premier League games this season.

Oddity.
A week to forget for…
Pep Guardiola. The Manchester City manager has faced rough times before, but consecutive defeats like these are rare.
After a poor performance at Manchester United, his team struggled at winless Bodo/Glimt this week.
