Chelsea are in discussions with Juventus about a loan for Douglas Luiz.

The Brazilian player has been on loan at Nottingham Forest but hasn’t made a strong impression.

Luiz has only started five Premier League matches for Forest, with injuries affecting his performance. He’s played just once in the last seven league games after recovering from injury and has been on the bench for the last two.

Chelsea aims to take over Luiz’s loan without a purchase option, looking to enhance their squad depth, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Liam Rosenior is currently missing Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia due to injuries and wants to strengthen his team. Chelsea are still active in four competitions this season.

On the subject of the team’s midfield, Rosenior said on Friday: “Unfortunately, Dario [Essugo] suffered an unfortunate injury. He slipped in training and will be out for over a month.”

“Romeo [Lavia] is recovering, which is good news. He’s an excellent player. We also have Enzo, Moi [Caicedo], Andrey Santos, and Reece James – it’s a solid lineup.”
