West Ham has rejected a new offer from Flamengo for Lucas Paqueta as the amount did not meet the club’s valuation of the midfielder.
Flamengo is eager to bring the Brazil international back to South America, and Paqueta has expressed his desire to make the move.
However, a deal is currently not close after Flamengo’s latest offer was turned down. Transfer expert Ben Jacobs reported that Flamengo’s latest bid was an initial €35m (£30.3m), with an additional €5m (£4.3m) in potential add-ons.
West Ham has declined this offer, valuing Paqueta at over €45m (£39m). The East London club also prefers to keep the midfielder until the summer as they face challenges in the Premier League.
Discussions are ongoing, with Paqueta advocating for the transfer. The 28-year-old has scored four goals in 18 league matches for West Ham this season.
