Viktor Gyokeres has expressed that it is an ‘exciting time’ for Arsenal after securing a spot in the Champions League’s last 16.
Arsenal is the first team to finish the league phase with a perfect record, winning all eight matches to advance to the knockout stages.
Gyokeres scored the first goal as Arsenal defeated Kairat Almaty 3-2 on Wednesday night, completing their league phase campaign.
The Swedish striker has netted four goals in five Champions League starts this season and highlighted significant wins during the league phase.

He mentioned that victories against Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid have boosted Arsenal’s confidence to advance further in the tournament.
“I think the Inter game was great and the match with Atletico Madrid at home stands out,” he said. “It’s always exciting to enter the knockout phase and get closer to our goals in this tournament.”
On the match against Kairat, Gyokeres shared his happiness about scoring but emphasized his desire for better team performance.
“It’s a great feeling to score goals and contribute to the team,” he stated. “While I’m happy with my goal, I believe we could have performed better overall in the game.”
Arsenal will meet either Atalanta, Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, or Olympiacos in the last 16, depending on the draw on Friday and the outcomes of the play-off round.
