Mikel Arteta believes Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres can work well together at Arsenal.
Havertz started for the first time this season as Arsenal wrapped up their Champions League group stage with a 3-2 victory over Kairat at the Emirates on Wednesday.
After a knee injury in the opening Premier League match against Manchester United, Havertz had played just 59 minutes this season.
He stood out in his return, assisting Gyokeres’ early goal and then scoring a fantastic individual goal.
Typically playing as a centre-forward, the 26-year-old impressed in a deeper role, supporting new signing Gyokeres creatively.

Arteta is optimistic about their partnership and believes the forwards can build chemistry.
“Kai showcased great quality, connecting well with the team and contributing with a goal and an assist in the first half—his performance was very positive,” Arteta said.
“He is capable of playing in various positions: right, left, as an attacking midfielder, or a centre-forward. The dynamics depend on those around him and available players. The great news is he’s fit, ready to help us a lot.”
“Every player has their own strengths, and Kai offers us versatility and a threat in different roles. He excels in understanding our goals and handles pressure well, making him essential for the rest of the season.”
