Arne Slot said his Liverpool forwards have gained ‘confidence’ from the team’s 6-0 victory over Qarabag earlier this week.
Liverpool is back in Premier League action against Newcastle United tomorrow, looking to end a five-game winless streak in the league. The convincing win against Qarabag secured their spot in the Champions League’s last 16, and Slot hopes to build on this momentum.
Florian Wirtz, Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike, and Federico Chiesa all scored, and Slot expressed satisfaction with the club’s attacking performance.
When asked about Salah scoring for the first time since his return from AFCON duty, Slot replied, “It’s about the team ensuring he gets into good positions. We’re improving in this area for all our players.”
“I’ve mentioned before that our play between both boxes is solid enough for our attackers to find themselves in good positions. If this happens regularly, our players will perform well because they have the quality.”
