Michael Carrick has announced that Manchester United will be without Mason Mount and Matthijs de Ligt for their match against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
United will face Spurs at Old Trafford tomorrow, aiming for their fourth straight win in the Premier League. The team has performed well under Carrick’s interim management, securing a spot in the Champions League positions.
Before the match, Carrick gave an update on his players. In addition to Patrick Dorgu, who is sidelined long-term with a hamstring injury, neither Mount nor De Ligt will be back in the lineup. However, Carrick is optimistic that both players are making progress.
“Mason will probably be available sooner,” Carrick mentioned in the pre-match press briefing. “He’s not far off, and we hope it won’t be too long.”
“Matthijs is also making good progress but is still not ready just yet. We’re hopeful he won’t be out for too long either.”
“The squad has trained well this week. They are focused and aware of the challenge ahead.”
