Arne Slot has urged Liverpool to achieve more consistency following their 1-0 victory at Sunderland.

Virgil van Dijk’s header was the key moment, allowing Liverpool to bounce back from their recent defeat to Manchester City.
When asked if this win was a perfect answer to their previous loss, Slot acknowledged the importance of the points but emphasized the need for more reliable performances from his team.
“Yes, but we’ve shown this response many times this season. It’s about consistency in our results. Winning here isn’t a coincidence; we’re usually the stronger team on the pitch,” he stated.
“It’s surprising how many times we’ve been the better team yet failed to secure wins. Today highlighted that again.”
“When we create numerous chances, including favorable situations like four-versus-three or three-versus-two, we should be scoring more goals given our quality, and we will.”
“In the end, we needed a set-piece to score. Normally, we have about ten set-pieces against such teams but historically don’t convert from them. Tonight was different, and that made the impact compared to our match against Burnley at home, for example, or in other games like those against Leeds.”
