Arsenal and Chelsea are both speaking with the agents of Atlético Madrid striker Julian Alvarez for potential summer transfers.
Alvarez is a key target for both London clubs, and they have received positive feedback from the player’s camp.
Atlético Madrid is reportedly open to selling Alvarez for a price below £100m, which Premier League teams are willing to pay. The Argentine forward has netted 40 goals in 89 appearances since leaving Manchester City for Atlético in 2024.
Arsenal and Chelsea face competition as TEAMtalk reports that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, with Barcelona being Alvarez’s preferred choice.
However, it remains uncertain if the La Liga team can meet Atlético’s price due to their financial issues.
Alvarez had a strong performance during his time at Manchester City, scoring 36 goals over two-and-a-half seasons and winning multiple trophies, including the 2022/23 treble under Pep Guardiola.
