Liam Rosenior expressed satisfaction with Chelsea’s performance after their 4-0 victory over Hull City, highlighting Pedro Neto’s outstanding display.
Neto scored his first career hat-trick at the MKM Stadium on Friday night, with Estevao Willian also contributing a goal, helping Chelsea advance to the fifth round.
“I was pleased with the players’ effort and attitude in the first half,” Rosenior told BBC Sport following the match.
“It was a challenging game. We’ve had some strong performances. You always want to improve, but overall, I am happy with our start together.
“The most encouraging part was their mentality. They represented the club well. It was a strong performance considering the mental focus needed for success.”
Rosenior praises Pedro Neto’s performance
Neto had struggled to score recently, going eight matches without a goal, but he now has 10 goals for the season.
“Pedro Neto has been exceptional,” Rosenior stated. “He works very hard and has great quality. I’m thrilled to see him score. The whole team put in a lot of effort for each other.”
Teammate Liam Delap spoke highly of Neto, saying: “Pedro Neto is a fantastic player. He’s playing in a position he’s not used to, but he showed his quality.”
