Arsenal is making progress in its pursuit of Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.
The Spain international is on Arsenal’s list of potential wide players as they look to strengthen their attack. The team is also interested in Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal has received positive signals from Williams’ representatives.
Even though the 23-year-old signed a long-term contract at San Mames last summer amid interest from Barcelona, he is now open to a summer move. This change comes as Athletic Bilbao faces a challenging season, currently sitting ninth in La Liga.
Williams’ contract reportedly includes a release clause of around €95 million, which could ease his departure. He has netted four league goals this season but has faced fitness issues.
Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are also interested in acquiring the Spanish player.
