Viktor Gyokeres believes there is room for improvement despite scoring twice in Arsenal’s 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby.
Gyokeres contributed two goals as Arsenal triumphed over Tottenham, extending their lead in the Premier League. The Swedish striker scored first from the edge of the area after Randal Kolo Muani had equalized for Arsenal following Eberechi Eze’s initial goal.
After Eze scored again to bring Arsenal’s total to three, Gyokeres added his second goal later in the match.
Since the beginning of the year, Gyokeres has netted eight goals, more than any other player in the Premier League during this period. After a slow start, he is now in form but acknowledges that he can still improve.
“It was a very good performance. We started really well and created good chances early on. We took the lead, and it was disappointing to concede right after, but we kept pressing and created chances in the second half. We capitalized on those as well,” he told BBC Sport.
“We felt we were in the game. We wanted to reset and create more chances, which we did, and performed well in the second half.”
“It was good. I could have done a few things better, but I enjoyed it. Being involved like I was today really helps my game.”
