Manchester United and Manchester City are set to compete for Nottingham Forest players Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson this summer.

Both clubs are considering transfer bids as they look to strengthen their squads. Manchester United has been open about needing new midfield options, especially with Casemiro likely to leave when his contract ends this summer.

Anderson, who has established himself in the England squad this season, is a key target for United to reinforce their midfield.

United also see potential in Gibbs-White, who could add much-needed creativity to the team. Mason Mount’s ongoing injury issues have increased the team’s reliance on Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Manchester City is also keeping an eye on both players. City showed interest in Gibbs-White last summer but chose to sign Tijjani Reijnders instead. Despite Gibbs-White signing a new deal with Nottingham Forest this season, he remains on Pep Guardiola’s radar.

According to the Mail, there could be a transfer battle between the two Manchester clubs this summer. City’s interest in both Anderson and Gibbs-White aligns with a strategy of targeting players who have experience in the Premier League, following January signings for Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi.

Both clubs will be watching Nottingham Forest closely as they fight to stay in the Premier League. If Forest gets relegated, it could make it easier for either club to pursue their desired midfield targets.
