Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner criticized the match officials for sending off Maxence Lacroix during the game against Manchester United.
Lacroix scored a remarkable header to give Palace an early lead at Old Trafford, where they were performing well.
However, the match changed after the break when Lacroix was sent off for bringing down Matheus Cunha.
The initial contact happened outside the penalty area, yet Lacroix received a red card, and Manchester United were awarded a penalty.
Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot to equalize, and then assisted Benjamin Sesko for the winning goal, taking advantage of their extra player.
Glasner expressed his disbelief at the officials’ decision, calling it a significant mistake.
In an interview with BBC Match of the Day, Glasner stated, “It is a crucial moment when you are leading 1-0, then concede a penalty and go down to ten players.
“The foul occurred outside the box, so the decision should reflect that. Matheus Cunha was very clever. We made several attempts to equalize and had good chances.
“We played a few days ago, and being a player down affects the game, especially as the crowd gets involved after the equalizer.”
