Chelsea are becoming strong candidates to sign Darwin Nunez from Al-Hilal.
The Uruguayan striker has not played much since Karim Benzema joined Al-Ittihad in January.
Due to foreign player registration rules, Nunez cannot participate in the Saudi Pro League games and can only play in continental competitions.
The Chronicle reports that Chelsea is now a serious possibility. The team is reviewing Liam Delap’s position after a disappointing first season, considering both loan and permanent options this summer. Nunez is seen as a potential replacement for Delap and could compete with Joao Pedro for the center-forward position.
Nunez has scored nine goals in 24 games for Al-Hilal, following a tally of 40 goals in 143 appearances for Liverpool over three seasons.
