Everton plays Burnley at the Hill Dickinson Stadium tonight, looking for their first home win since early December to solidify their position in the top half of the table.

The Toffees have risen to eighth place after a strong 3–2 victory at Newcastle on Saturday. Manager David Moyes aims to bring that away form to their home games. Everton has kept clean sheets in their last three matches against Burnley but is currently facing their longest winless streak at home in nearly thirty years.

Everton team news

David Moyes will manage a team missing a key defender but is optimistic about his goalkeepers. Captain Seamus Coleman is sidelined due to an injury, meaning Jake O’Brien may step in to an adjusted defense. Moyes is also considering starting Thierno Barry, who scored the winning goal at Newcastle. Barry has been in good form, scoring six times in his last 14 matches after not scoring in his first 14.

Jordan Pickford will be the starting goalkeeper, supported by a defense that includes James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite. In midfield, James Garner and Idrissa Gana Gueye are likely to lead the team. Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye will provide width, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will play in a creative role. Everton has struggled to win against newly-promoted teams this season, having lost all four encounters. A win today would mark the first home victory against a promoted team for Moyes in over 15 years.
