Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has defended Arsenal’s style of play after some criticism following their match at Brighton.
Arsenal secured a 1-0 victory at Brighton, which helped them maintain their lead in the Premier League title race. However, they faced criticism from Brighton’s coach Fabian Hurzeler and midfielder Pascal Gross, who accused them of time-wasting during the match.
This season, Arsenal’s heavy reliance on set-pieces has drawn criticism, but it has also proven to be highly effective. The team has scored 16 goals from corners in the current season, matching the single-season Premier League record.
Chelsea experienced Arsenal’s set-piece threat firsthand, conceding two goals from corners in their recent 2-1 loss at the Emirates Stadium.
Rosenior supported the Gunners, stating that there are various methods to win games and emphasized that he does not judge other teams’ tactics.
“They are a very good team, which is evident in their position. They are well-organized in every aspect of the game,” Rosenior said at a press conference on Friday before Chelsea’s FA Cup match against Wrexham.
“The beauty of football is that teams can play in different ways if they believe in their approach. Arsenal believes in what they do. Each manager has a unique style, leading to diverse ways of playing.”
“I’m not here to pass judgment. I respect all teams for their tactics, and it’s essential to adapt and find ways to succeed against them.”
