Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior stated he would not exchange Joao Pedro for Erling Haaland or any other top striker, given Pedro’s recent performance.

The Brazilian forward has been in excellent form, netting ten goals in his last 11 matches in all competitions, including a hat-trick against Aston Villa that ended a three-game winless streak.

This brings his total for the season to 17 goals, making him Chelsea’s leading scorer in the 2025/26 season. He is on track to become the first Chelsea striker to reach 20 goals since Diego Costa in 2017.

Rosenior would not trade Chelsea’s Pedro for Haaland, Kane, or Mbappe

Before this Saturday’s FA Cup match against Wrexham, Rosenior was questioned about swapping Pedro for top goalscorers Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, or Kylian Mbappe. His response was clear.

“I think Joao is in that category now,” he said. “He has consistently shown that level in the two months I’ve been here. He’s a world-class striker.

“It’s unfair to compare him to Erling. I don’t know him well, but from what I see, he’s an excellent world-class striker. However, I wouldn’t trade Joao for anyone right now. He possesses all the qualities I want in my number nine.”
