Liam Rosenior expressed disappointment after Chelsea’s late collapse against Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea’s Champions League hopes are at risk following a 5-2 defeat to the defending champions at Parc des Princes. The team managed to equalize twice during the match, but a 74th-minute goal from Vitinha gave PSG the lead again.

In the closing minutes, substitute Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored two more goals, increasing the challenge for Chelsea in the next leg. Rosenior acknowledged that these late goals overshadowed a solid performance from his players.

“Our performance was strong until the third goal, but that doesn’t matter now due to the final score,” Rosenior said. “It’s a frustrating result, especially since I was pleased with how we played for much of the match. The last 15 to 20 minutes were chaotic. At this level, the details are critical.”

“Errors happen, and we need to keep our composure, myself included. Unfortunately, we didn’t, and a strong team like PSG took advantage. The score is tough to accept because we were competitive for 75 minutes.”

“At 2-2, we were gaining momentum and were close to making it 3-3 before a narrow offside call on Joao Pedro’s goal.”

“Even though a 4-2 score is not ideal, we still have a chance at Stamford Bridge. That fifth goal was particularly hard to take. We failed to regroup, didn’t follow a simple game plan, and that made things much harder for us. We’ve made this tie challenging, but it’s not impossible to recover from.”
