Trent Alexander-Arnold has stated that Real Madrid must win the Champions League following their impressive victory over Manchester City.
Real Madrid defeated City 3-0 in the first leg of their last-16 matchup on Wednesday night, with Federico Valverde scoring all three goals.
The Spanish club is the record 15-time Champions League winner, having claimed the trophy eight times since 2000.
Alexander-Arnold, who previously won the competition with Liverpool in 2019, emphasized that there should be “no excuses” for Real Madrid as they chase another European title.
“We have to go and win the Champions League,” the right-back told TNT Sports.
“When there’s so much hype around a game, playing for Real Madrid, there are no excuses… we must win, and we aim for the title regardless of the opponent.”
