Reece James has stated that Chelsea still has a chance in the tie despite their 5-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Chelsea faced a tough challenge in the first leg of their last-16 match, conceding two late goals that have made the second leg even harder.
Liam Rosenior’s team played well for much of the match in Paris, managing to equalize twice with goals from Malo Gusto and Enzo Fernandez. However, PSG took control with a goal from Vitinha, followed by two late goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Despite this setback, James is hopeful about a comeback at Stamford Bridge. He emphasized, “This is the Champions League, and anything can happen. Many teams have turned ties around in the past from larger deficits than what we are facing now.”
“We must put this behind us and focus on the next game. We need to respond. Although the game didn’t go our way, this is only half-time,” he added.
“There’s a lot we can learn from this match. We know we’ve made it difficult for ourselves, but the tie is not over. We need to reset and prepare for the second leg.”
“I want to reiterate that the game is not finished; it’s only half-time. We will give everything we have in the second leg.”
