Liverpool manager Arne Slot has highlighted Ryan Gravenberch’s new contract as a sign of his significance to the team.
Gravenberch has agreed to a long-term deal with Liverpool this week, securing his future at the club until 2032. The Dutch international has played a key role during Slot’s tenure at Anfield, winning the Premier League Young Player of the Season award and earning a spot in the PFA Team of the Year during the team’s title-winning season in 2024-25.
When asked about the midfielder’s new contract, Slot stated on Friday: “It’s clear that both the club and I recognize his importance and his growth. This led to his new contract. He is a young player who was signed early and has room to develop.”
“His first season may not have matched last year’s level, but that’s normal for young players adjusting, especially to the Premier League. There’s a lot more to come from him.”
“Our strategy has always focused on signing younger players who can thrive in this excellent environment with top facilities and dedicated staff, helping them improve. When they reach their peak, they are still contributing to our team.”
