Michael Carrick has brushed off Paul Scholes’ criticism of his management after suffering his first defeat as interim head coach of Manchester United.
The team lost 2-1 to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park last week, marking the end of Carrick’s unbeaten run since taking over from Ruben Amorim.
Following the match, Scholes expressed his frustration with the team’s form in an Instagram post, stating, “Michael has definitely got something special about him… because Utd have been poor the last four games… Night.”

Ahead of the upcoming match against Aston Villa at Old Trafford, Carrick indicated that he wasn’t concerned about Scholes’ remarks.
“It was nothing really, nothing to say about it really,” he commented during his pre-match press conference.
“That is just how social media works. It can be interpreted in many ways, so just stay calm. There will always be different opinions, and people can take things to extremes.
“It’s what it is. I’m not worried about it. I don’t make a big deal out of it.”
