Everton leads our Premier League Team of the Week following a significant victory over Chelsea. Here’s the top XI from the weekend matches.

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford – Everton

Pickford bounced back well after a mistake against Arsenal. He made several crucial saves against Chelsea, including a standout stop from Enzo Fernández.

Right-back: Timothy Castagne – Fulham

Stepping in for Kenny Tete, Castagne performed well. He lost only one of his six defensive challenges and created three chances as Fulham defeated Burnley at home.

Centre-back: Nikola Milenkovic – Nottingham Forest

Milenkovic was a strong presence at the back, showcasing a solid defensive display reminiscent of his previous form. He recorded 11 clearances and won 5 out of 6 aerial duels.

Centre-back: James Tarkowski – Everton

Tarkowski returned to the lineup with a commanding display, effectively neutralizing danger from Joao Pedro and making a key block.

Left-back: Neco Williams – Nottingham Forest

Williams provided excellent crosses, contributing to both of Nottingham’s goals in their win over Spurs while remaining defensively sound throughout the match.

Midfield: James Garner – Everton

Garner was active throughout the midfield, backing up his recent England call-up. He assisted with a well-placed pass, showcasing strong ball control and work ethic.

Midfield: Amadou Onana – Aston Villa

Onana played a crucial role in Villa’s victory over West Ham, demonstrating effective tackling and winning most of his ground duels, marking one of Villa’s better performances recently.

Midfield: Josh King – Fulham

King scored his first Premier League goal and reacted quickly to net an equalizer against Burnley, setting up the second goal as Fulham continued their European quest.

His pass also set up Harry Wilson for Fulham’s second goal in a solid outing from the young player.

Forward: Brian Brobbey – Sunderland

Brobbey’s physical presence caused issues for the opposing defense, and he scored the winning goal late in the match, creating a memorable moment for Sunderland.

Forward: Beto – Everton

Beto faced criticism previously but responded with a standout performance against Chelsea, scoring a well-placed opening goal and assisting later in the match.

Forward: Danny Welbeck – Brighton

At age 35, Welbeck is having a remarkable season, scoring twice against Liverpool. This brought his league total to 12 goals, his best season yet.

This is his most productive Premier League season to date. Questions arise about whether he should have been included in the national setup this month.
