Spain Under-21 international and Bournemouth full-back Alex Jimenez has stated that playing in the 2026 World Cup is his ultimate dream.
The 20-year-old defender shared this during an interview with Radioestadio Noche after making a successful transition to the Premier League.
Since joining Bournemouth from AC Milan, Jimenez has become a key player under manager Andoni Iraola.
Despite being young, the former Real Madrid academy player feels ready to support the senior national team if needed.
His journey to the South Coast came after a challenging exit from Real Madrid, where he spent over ten years.
Jimenez mentioned that his last year in Madrid was mentally tough, prompting his move to Italy.
Alex Jimenez dreams of World Cup after Bournemouth move
“When you don’t feel at home at a club, you reach a point where it’s time to move on,” Jimenez told Onda Cero.
His time at AC Milan was difficult at first, but he eventually found his stride, leading to a permanent move to Bournemouth this season.
Jimenez considers Andoni Iraola his most significant coach, appreciating the tactical trust he has received.
This confidence helped him adapt to the physical aspect of English football quickly.
In a light moment, he shared that his current manager even allowed him to dye his hair white, which was previously forbidden by Massimiliano Allegri at Milan.
As a product of La Fábrica, Jimenez looks up to Dani Carvajal and Theo Hernández as key style influences.
However, his childhood idol remains former Barcelona star Dani Alves.
With the 2026 World Cup ahead, Jimenez is focused yet ambitious about his international prospects.
He continues to work hard at the Vitality Stadium to stay on the radar for Luis de la Fuente’s senior squad.
