“Right now, I like David Raya,” Garcia said when asked about the best goalkeeper in the world.
“He’s having a fantastic season in the Premier League. He’s under a lot of pressure with set-pieces and his footwork. He is playing at a very high level, and I’m really enjoying watching him.”

“A Very High Level”: Garcia supports Raya for World Cup starting role
Raya’s impressive stats in the 2025/26 season back this recognition.
The 30-year-old leads the Premier League Golden Glove race with 15 clean sheets from 31 games.
His consistency is evident in European matches too, with a total of 21 clean sheets across all competitions.
Raya aims for a historic third consecutive Golden Glove award, solidifying his position as a top modern goalkeeper.
In addition to his shot-stopping skills, Raya’s aerial command is crucial to Arsenal’s strategy.
His excellent footwork helps the team deal with aggressive pressing tactics. Luis de la Fuente is also eager to utilize these skills for the national team.
While Unai Simón remains the first-choice goalkeeper, Raya’s impressive form in the Premier League strengthens his case to start in North America this summer.
