San Diego FC owner Mohamed Mansour has expressed interest in signing Mohamed Salah this summer.
Salah is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years at the club. The Egyptian forward is considering options with clubs in Saudi Arabia and Major League Soccer also in talks.
Mansour, who owns the newest franchise in MLS, stated that San Diego would consider a deal if head coach Mikey Varas believes Salah fits their strategy.
Mansour told talkSPORT: “I think any team in the world would want to have him.
“He’s an outstanding player and a dedicated professional. He has kept up his athleticism and professionalism.
“The management of San Diego Football Club, like any company I oversee, has designated people in charge.
“We have Tyler Heaps as our sporting director and Mikey Varas as our coach—it’s up to them to make those decisions.
“We need to assess how well he aligns with our playing style.
“He has achieved great success at Liverpool. In the Middle East, not just in Egypt, you’ll see Liverpool shirts with Salah’s name on them. He is a world-class talent.
“As someone with Egyptian roots and now a British citizen, it is meaningful for me to see someone maintain such high professionalism.”
