Manchester United is gearing up for the summer transfer window, with Champions League qualification potentially influencing squad improvements for the upcoming season.

Currently third in the Premier League, Michael Carrick’s team could secure a spot in UEFA’s top tournament with a top five finish.

Achieving Champions League status may help the club in identifying new players to enhance the squad.

One possible target is Adam Wharton, who is expected to leave Crystal Palace at the end of this season.

Carlos Baleba might also be available, as Brighton and Hove Albion have reduced their asking price for the midfielder ahead of the summer window.

Manchester United isn’t just focusing on midfield; they also aim to strengthen their defense.

According to Ben Jacobs on the United Stand YouTube channel, the club is interested in Charlie Cresswell.

Jacobs noted, “Charlie Cresswell, formerly of Leeds United, is a player they really like.”

“He is an England Under-21 international. Wolfsburg nearly signed him in January but could not match Toulouse’s asking price.

“He is still playing regularly in Ligue 1. Along with a few others, he’s among the profiles that Manchester United is considering.”

West Ham United has shown continuous interest in Cresswell, but United’s interest might impact West Ham’s chances of securing him.

Whichever way it goes, the 23-year-old is likely to move to the Premier League, with the focus now on his decision.
