While Broos didn’t explicitly say Denmark is stronger than his team, he acknowledged he would prefer to have the Czech Republic in their group instead of Denmark.
This marks the Czech Republic’s return to the World Cup after 20 years, achieved in front of their home fans at the Epet Arena.
The match was challenging, ending in a 2-2 draw, but the Czechs triumphed in penalties, winning 3-1 to secure their spot.
The Czech Republic will play South Africa in the second round of group matches, following their opener against host Mexico, with the final game of their group against South Korea.
