This Saturday, the United States Men’s National Team faced a tough loss against Belgium in their World Cup match, ending the game 5-2 after a strong start.

A Tense Start

The USMNT began the match with intensity, testing Belgium’s goalkeeper Senne Lammens early on with a low shot from Antonee Robinson in the 9th minute.

Weston McKennie pressured Lammens again in the 17th minute with a shot from close range. Later, he teamed up with Robinson to score in the 39th minute.

Belgium responded with Zeno Debast hitting a powerful shot from over 30 yards, equalizing the game 1-1 before halftime.

Levels To The Game

The second half saw a marked change in the game’s dynamics.

In the 53rd minute, Jérémy Doku made a run down the left side and passed to Alexis Saelemaekers, who then assisted Amadou Onana.

The USMNT conceded a penalty after a handball by Tim Ream in the 59th minute, which Charles De Ketelaere converted, making it 3-1.

Patrick Agyemang managed to score for the USMNT, but Dodi Lukébakio added to his tally with a brace.

End Of My Rant On The USMNT Vs Belgium

The U.S. has now lost six consecutive games since their first victory over Belgium in the 1930 World Cup.

With Chris Richards and Miles Robinson injured, the U.S. needs to adapt their strategy for upcoming matches.

Next, they will face Portugal at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 31st. The absence of Cristiano Ronaldo may give them a better chance to improve their performance.
