Djé D’Avilla expressed his hope that former Orlando Pirates defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi can bring his goal-scoring energy to Chicago Fire.
D’Avilla was thrilled with Mbokazi’s strike for Bafana Bafana, as the Chicago Fire midfielder looked forward to seeing similar goals from him in the MLS.
The midfield standout was impressed by Mbokazi’s goal against Panama during a friendly at Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday night.
“I think Mbokazi is a special guy. When I saw the goal, I went crazy, what a goal,” he stated.
“I hope he can bring this energy to Chicago, help the team, and then he will do well.”
D’Avilla joined Chicago Fire last season from Leiria in Portugal and has established himself as one of the top players in the MLS.
This weekend, Chicago Fire will compete against Nashville SC in a home match.
