Denis Bouanga Scores Hat Trick as LAFC Dominates Orlando City SC

Denis Bouanga scored three goals in eight minutes during Los Angeles FC’s 6-0 victory over Orlando City SC on Saturday.

LAFC (5-0-1, 16 points) has not allowed any goals in their unbeaten start, outscoring opponents 14-0. Their 540-minute streak without conceding is among the longest in MLS history.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has played a key role in this streak, achieving six shutouts and blocking all six shots on target against Orlando, making several notable saves in the second half as Orlando pressed for a goal.

This hat trick marked the fifth of Bouanga’s MLS career, making him tied for the second-most in league history. Bouanga had previously scored only once in LAFC’s first five matches.

Son Heung-Min contributed by recording four assists, matching the second-highest assist total in a single MLS game.

Sergi Palencia and Tyler Boyd each scored their first goals of the season, while Orlando defender David Brekalo inadvertently scored an own goal in the seventh minute, which contributed to LAFC’s early advantage.

Orlando City (1-5-0, three points) holds the record for the most goals conceded in the league, allowing 23 in six matches.

Brekalo’s own goal set a challenging tone for Orlando. Soon after, the combination of Son and Bouanga took control of the game. In the 20th minute, Son found Bouanga with a great pass, enabling Bouanga to chip the ball over the diving Maxime Crepeau for the goal.

Just three minutes later, Bouanga scored again, leaving defender Nolan Miller behind in a one-on-one situation. Another well-placed pass from Son set up Bouanga for the shot.

Bouanga completed his hat trick in the 28th minute following a turnover by Orlando. Son seized the loose ball and quickly assisted Bouanga for the finish.

Palencia scored in the 39th minute, converting another pass from Son. Boyd added the only goal in the second half, heading in a cross from Jacob Shaffelburg in the 70th minute.
