Dladla emphasized that finishing as runners-up won’t allow them to make history like winning the championship would.

Pitso Dladla is not pleased with just leading Durban City to the Nedbank Cup final; he wants them to win the trophy.

Dladla noted that in a cup final, no one remembers the team that comes in second, and he wants Durban City to make their mark by winning the competition.

Durban City secured their spot in the final by defeating Casric Stars at Chatsworth Stadium yesterday, thanks to an own goal by Sphamandla Mlilo in the first half.

“We are in the final, and we want to be remembered. To achieve that, we need to win,” he stated during an interview with SuperSport TV.

“Although we have won our previous matches on penalties, the final is different.

“The key point is that when you reach the final, you must win it. If you lose, no one will remember you.

“It’s similar to Bafana Bafana’s AFCON win; we all remember Mark Williams, but not many recall the others who were there.
