The finalists of South Africa’s major cup competition, the Nedbank Cup, have been confirmed. Durban City will face TS Galaxy for the trophy, after both teams navigated the tournament successfully and are just one match away from victory.
Durban City has been a standout team this season. They played structured football and showed determination in knockout games. In earlier rounds, they defeated lower-tier teams easily, and in the quarterfinals, they narrowly beat Golden Arrows in a tense match. In the semifinals, Durban City managed to win against Casric Stars by a close margin.
TS Galaxy also had a tough journey to the final. They faced strong opponents, including Marumo Gallants and Mamelodi Sundowns, early in the tournament. In the semifinals, their team remained composed during a penalty shootout against Milford.
Now, both teams will compete in the final, with the chance to win a prestigious trophy and make their mark in South African football history. This is Durban City’s first time in the final, while TS Galaxy previously won the Cup in 2019.
