“My Actions Were Not Good Enough” – Alex Iwobi Apologises After Red Card Against Jordan
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has acknowledged his mistake and apologized following his red card in Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly draw against Jordan on March 31.
The incident took place during a crucial moment of the match in Turkey, where Iwobi reacted after being held back by Jordan’s Amer Jamous. His response resulted in a straight red card, leaving Nigeria with ten players.
In a video on his YouTube channel, the former Arsenal player admitted his reaction was not acceptable and took full responsibility.
“I need to address what I did and apologise to all my Nigerian teammates, staff, and everyone who cares about Nigeria. My actions were not good enough, and I got sent off,” Iwobi stated.
“But I will learn from this and keep moving forward. We got a draw, we did not lose, so we will focus on the positives.
“I want to apologise for the mistake,” the Fulham star added.
