Manchester United is now interested in Blackburn Rovers centre-back Tom Atcheson.
The 19-year-old has played eight times in the Championship this season and recently made his international debut for Northern Ireland.
Michael O’Neill, who coaches both Blackburn and the Northern Ireland team, gave Atcheson his debut as a substitute against Wales last month.
Standing at 6ft 3in, the defender is gaining attention from Premier League clubs, with United considering a potential offer.
As reported by TEAMtalk, he is regarded as a ‘low-risk signing’ by owner Ineos, valued between £10m and £20m. Atcheson has been compared to Phil Jones, who also came through the ranks at Blackburn before joining Manchester United.
United is not the only club interested in Atcheson. Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle, Sunderland, Brentford, and Brighton are also scouting the young centre-back.
