“He Was Very Enthusiastic About Switching Allegiance” – Arthur Okonkwo Set for Super Eagles Debut
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials have announced that Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is eager to include goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo in the national team soon.
Okonkwo recently changed his international allegiance from England to Nigeria, where he had previously played at various youth levels. This decision strengthens Nigeria’s squad and offers a promising talent in goal.
An NFF official told ESPN that Okonkwo’s excitement about representing Nigeria made the transition easy:
“He was very enthusiastic about switching allegiance and playing for Nigeria, and that made things easier for us,” the official said. “The coach, Eric Chelle, wants him and would like to have him in the squad as soon as possible.”
