Leonel Ateba, the talented Cameroonian striker, impressed once again this Wednesday as Al Shorta faced Baghdad.
Ateba has been a standout performer in the Iraqi league this season, seizing every opportunity to make an impact. Since the 2025–2026 campaign began, he has consistently scored goals and provided key assists.
On April 8, during matchday 27 of the Iraq Stars League, Ateba played a pivotal role in Al Shorta’s dominant 4-1 win over Baghdad. He contributed with both a goal and an assist. In the 4th minute, he set up Mahmoud Al Mawas for the opening goal, and later, in the 20th minute, Ateba added to the scoreline himself to extend the lead.
This season, he has netted 14 goals and supplied 5 assists in 29 matches across all competitions for Al Shorta.
