The Ghana national football team has appointed a new head coach just ahead of a major tournament.

Details: Insider Fabrizio Romano reports that the Ghana Football Association has officially named 73-year-old Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz as the new manager of the national team.

This contract takes effect immediately, giving Queiroz crucial time to prepare the team for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

Queiroz was selected for his extensive international experience. He is known for creating disciplined teams and achieving positive results quickly, a talent he has consistently shown while coaching national teams in Iran, Egypt, and Portugal.
