The manager of the Democratic Republic of Congo national team has addressed concerns regarding players who returned late to their clubs.

Some Congolese internationals decided to extend their time with the national team to celebrate the Leopards’ World Cup qualification after 52 years. This choice upset several European clubs that wanted their players back on schedule. In an interview with Afrikfoot, Sebastien Desabre emphasized that the Congolese national team did not violate any regulations.

The clubs are fulfilling their responsibilities. Lille brought Ngal’ Ayel Mukau back before the weekend. However, I want to emphasize that we have always adhered to FIFA’s rules. Most clubs have been understanding, recognizing the importance of this celebration for our players and the Congolese people.
