Antoine Semenyo has shared insights about his commitment to the Ghana national football team, stating that the choice was clear, even with other options available to him.
The Manchester City player was eligible to represent both England and France but chose to play for Ghana—a decision he describes as instinctive.
During an appearance on The Mixer podcast, Semenyo explained that he didn’t think twice when the opportunity presented itself. He felt a strong pull to represent the senior national team at a young age, which made his decision easier, as it allowed him to play at the international level.
“I was 20, 21 when Ghana came calling. I couldn’t say no to playing for the first team, so it was an easy choice,” Semenyo said.
“No, it was never a hard decision. I wasn’t even in England’s top ranking like that anyway.”
