Details: According to respected journalist Florian Plettenberg, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has directed the club to extend the contract of the 37-year-old Polish striker. Lewandowski is reportedly willing to take a significant pay cut and agree to a restructured deal to remain in Catalonia for at least another season.
While Lewandowski has options in MLS and Saudi Arabia, he has made it clear that he aspires to compete at a top level for at least one more year.
This season, Lewandowski has participated in 40 matches for Barcelona, netting 17 goals and providing 3 assists. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at 8 million euros, and his current contract with Barcelona is set to expire this summer.
