Nottingham Forest has announced that winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has undergone surgery to address a muscle injury, which will sideline him for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old athlete sustained the injury while coming on as a substitute during Forest’s 1-0 UEFA Europa League victory against FC Porto last week. He was forced to leave the match in the 73rd minute, appearing visibly emotional as he exited the pitch.
Following scans, medical staff confirmed the severity of the injury, ruling Hudson-Odoi out for the remaining five games of this Premier League season.
In a statement, Nottingham Forest expressed their support, saying: “Callum is expected to return to full training during the pre-season period, and everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery.”
