Real Betis is making strides to ensure they remain without a coach for no longer than necessary amidst ongoing uncertainty regarding Manuel Pellegrini’s future.
According to reports from Diário de Transferências, citing Radio Marca, negotiations between Real Betis management and Pellegrini have not yet reached a conclusion. In the event that discussions fall through, the club is prepared with a replacement.
The primary candidate identified to succeed Pellegrini is Roberto Martínez, the current manager of the Portugal national team. He is expected to become available after the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup.
The strained relationship between Pellegrini and the Betis board is contributing to the slow progress in contract negotiations, suggesting that the Chilean coach may depart earlier than anticipated. Pellegrini has been at the helm of Real Betis since 2020, amassing a record of 142 wins, 80 draws, and 82 defeats from 304 matches.
