The French club Nice is keen to secure the future of Ivorian striker Elye Wahi, who has made a significant impact since joining on loan from Frankfurt. With impressive statistics of four goals and one assist in just 11 Ligue 1 matches, Wahi has won over the management at Nice.
Nice’s deputy vice-president, Maurice Cohen, expressed the club’s desire to retain Wahi beyond his current loan period, which is set to end in June. Cohen stated the club’s intentions clearly, emphasizing the striker’s positive attributes.
We’d very much like to keep Elye Wahi. He’s a very likeable lad. We haven’t had any discussions with Frankfurt yet, and we can’t have any until we know whether we’ll be in Ligue 1 next season. We’d like to extend his loan.
